Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Benjamin Stambouli has been reflecting on his side’s victory over Newcastle United.
Spurs eased past fellow Premier League outfit Newcastle 4-0 in the quarter-finals of the League Cup at White Hart Lane on Wednesday.
Nabil Bentaleb opened the scoring in the 18th minute, and Nacer Chadli doubled the advantage just a minute into the second half.
Harry Kane and Roberto Soldado scored in quick succession as the season half progressed to wrap up a very comprehensive win for Spurs.
Looking back on the match, Stambouli told BBC Sport: "I think it was a perfect performance. We were focused on our opponents, we had that willingness to score and it came naturally.
“It is never easy even if you are winning 2-0, but we focused on our defending and then our attackers took their chances. All the club and all the fans are very happy. We will do our best to win this trophy.”
Tottenham will take on Sheffield United next for a place in the final, which will be held at London’s Wembley Stadium.
