Thierry Henry joined Arsenal's training sessions last December to stay fit, and was pictured helping Jack Wilshere off the ground.
Yet amid the countless tributes to the Frenchman, Wilshere's message on Twitter highlighted a real regret concerning the club legend.
The England international never got the chance to play alongside Henry, denied the opportunity by injury.
Wilshere could have done so during Henry's short two month loan spell back with Arsenal in the 2011/12 season.
Yet the England international was in the midst of an ankle lay-off which wrote off his entire campaign, and caused him to miss Euro 2012.
His young teammate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was more fortunate, both scoring in the 7-1 win over Blackburn Rovers.
Wilshere did get the chance to share the pitch with Henry this summer however, in a pre-season friendly against New York Red Bulls.
Arsenal had even attempted to get Henry to play the second half for them in the contest, but with Wilshere withdrawn after 45 minutes in, he could well have been out of luck in any case.
Like the millions of Arsenal fans around the world, he will have to make do with the countless happy memories watching the Frenchman instead.
