This season's surprise package West Ham United have reportedly been in talks regarding the possible transfer of a young Italian-based player.
West Ham United have reportedly held talks with the representatives of Brescia midfielder Ismael H’Maidat.
Italian website TMW reports that the Hammers held what they call a ‘positive’ meeting with the players’ representatives on Monday, and with his current club allegedly willing to release him from his contract he could be on his way to Upton Park in due course.
That said, fellow Italian club Sampdoria are also said to be interested and the same report claims they have made a move in the last week, although West Ham reportedly remain in the box-seat.
H’Maidat is a 19-year-old attacking midfielder who is eligible to play for both the Netherlands and Morocco.
While predominantly a forward-thinking player he can also operate in more of a defensive midfield role if required and he has made 14 appearances for Brescia since moving from Anderlecht last summer.
