Inter Milan's win over Chievo last night heard the name of Mario Balotelli being heard from the stands.
Speculative reports in recent weeks have linked Balotelli with a return to Italy, and as one of his former clubs, with his ex-manager Roberto Mancini in charge, they have come up for discussion as a destination.
The fans are not however in favour of the Liverpool striker making a return to the club.
Italian website Calciomercato reported after Monday night's 2-0 win: "Of note is the tough stance of the Inter fans compared to reports of a supposed return of Balotelli.
"The fans sung songs offensive against the attacker of Liverpool and phrases like "Balotelli do not want him."
Inter fans have reason not to have affection for their former star, for the way he signed for their rivals AC Milan in 2013.
Manager Roberto Mancini still retains his admiration for him, but suggested when quizzed after the game he must stay at Liverpool.
He told TMW: "I love the guy, has always behaved well with me. He has a great ability (with him) at Liverpool, he must try to exploit this opportunity"
