Arsenal have reacted to the news that Thierry Henry has retired from playing all football via their Twitter account.
The Gunners Tweeted two picture tributes to the club’s record goalscorer after he decided to call time on his playing career and move into a TV pundit role with Sky Sports.
There was speculation that Henry would return to Arsenal for a third playing spell when his New York Red Bulls contract expired, but he’s confirmed that wasn’t an option as he didn’t want to spoil his past association with the club.
Arsenal produced a graphic in tribute to Henry as well as posting a number of old photographs of the player from his time at the club.
Henry gave Arsenal fans some of their best memories under Arsene Wenger and he was a key part of the ‘invincible’ side which went through an entire season without losing a game.
He could well end up at Arsenal in some coaching capacity in the future but for now he’s locking horns with Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville.
