Wolfsburg goalkeeper Diego Benaglio has singled out Manchester United loanee Nani as one to watch when the German side face Sporting Lisbon in the Europa League early next year.
The two sides were drawn against each other in the last 32 of the competition and the Swiss stopper believes the Portuguese winger could make the difference.
Nani enjoyed a blistering start to his second stint at Sporting having moved on loan from United in the summer, but the Portuguese international sustained a thigh injury at the start of the month and is unlikely to feature until early 2015.
He should however be back for February, when Sporting return to European action, and in quotes published by A Bola, Benaglio praised the 28-year-old.
“Sporting are a good team,” he said. “Especially when they have Nani, a player who has quality and can make a difference.
“They will be two interesting games. Sporting come from the Champions League, so it will not be easy. But I believe we can progress.”
Since temporarily leaving United Nani has made 16 appearances, scoring six goals and providing five assists in that time.
