Marouane Chamakh's time at Arsenal is not remembered for much - and his pace certainly wasn't a standout memory.
Yet the Moroccan showed his athleticism at the weekend, recording a faster speed than the club's new talisman.
Premier League data from the most recent round of matches shows Chamakh to be the joint-third fastest player in the division.
He recorded a speed of 34.7 km/h, level with Everton's Kevin Mirallas. This was narrowly ahead of Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez, who registered 34.6.
The only two players faster than Chamakh were Newcastle's Paul Dummett (34.9), and his Palace teammate Wilfried Zaha (35.2).
The speediest player in the league this season is Newcastle's Moussa Sissoko, who reached a top speed of 35.2 km/h earlier in the campaign.
Chamakh, 30, is the oldest player to make the top five this past week, but unfortunately he still lacks a goal touch to match his speed. He has just one goal in 13 appearances this season.
