The Club Brugge midfielder has revealed that an English club has contacted him over a potential move to the Premier League on a free transfer next summer.
Club Brugge star Viktor Vazquez has revealed that an unnamed English club are among those to have contacted the midfielder over a potential move away from Belgium next summer.
A former Barcelona B team star during his younger days, the winger was previously linked with a switch to the Emirates with Arsene Wenger keen to recruit the Spanish midfielder on a free transfer from the Catalan club.
However, a move to North London ultimately failed to materialise with Vazquez switching to Club Brugge instead, but according to a new report from Voetbal Nieuws the midfielder, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has received a fresh offer from England.
Asked by Spanish reporters on whether he would accept a new contract in Belgium, the player said: "I will have to think twice about.
"In January, I am 28 years and I have to think about my future and that of my family. I have a wife and a son, so it's a decision we have to take the three of us. several good teams have already made an offer, but here they know me well.
"I know I'm in a good club. For December 24 I need to resolve the issue. Whether there Spanish teams are interested in? There are several offers from Spain. Also from Italy, England and the United States there is interest, but nothing concrete."
Arsenal have yet to be formally linked with a move for the midfielder, although their French manager is not the only one to have shown an interest in Vazquez in the past.
Back during his days as manager of Malaga, Manuel Pellegrini reportedly attempted to sign the Spaniard from Brugge, although he ultimately failed in his endeavours.
With City keen to balance the books in terms of Financial Fair Play, however, a move for a midfielder in fine form and available for nothing could prove too difficult to resist.
Vazquez has played 110 games for Brugge to date, scoring 15 goals including a recent memorable effort with the outside of his boot.
