Everton boss Roberto Martinez gives Kevin Mirallas injury update

Everton manager Roberto Martinez says that “nothing is conclusive yet” about Kevin Mirallas’s ankle injury.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has admitted that he does not yet know the full extent of the injury to Kevin Mirallas.

The 27-year-old winger sustained an ankle problem during the closing stages of the ToffeesPremier League clash against Queens Park Rangers at Goodison Park on Monday.

Belgium international Mirallas failed to finish the match, which ended in a 3-1 win for Merseyside outfit Everton.

“We are still doing some tests and nothing is conclusive yet,” Martinez told Everton’s official website.

“It’s clearly ankle damage and we are not going to find out until the next two or three days the extent of the injury.”

It would be blow if Mirallas’s injury turns out to be long-term. The former Olympiacos star has scored four goals and created 10 chances in 11 Premier League appearances so far this season, while having a pass accuracy of 87% and a shot accuracy of 44%.

Everton are currently 10th in the Premier League table with 21 points from 16 matches, seven points behind fourth-placed West Ham United.
