Former Liverpool goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek has suggested what Brendan Rodgers’ side need to get results moving in the right direction.
Liverpool were well beaten at Manchester United last weekend, thanks largely to the form of David De Gea, and Dudek feels it’s the time for the Reds to show they’ve got the fight and grit to turn things around.
“I think everyone is under pressure at the club - Liverpool, when they fight altogether they get results,” he told FourFourTwo.
“When they have lack of fighters on the pitch they are struggling to get results, they need everyone on board and fight to the end.”
Liverpool have been struggling for consistency but it’s important that the leaders in the first team squad stand up and be counted over Christmas and the New Year.
They have a chance to win the Europa League, which would mean a place in the Champions League, but Rodgers will want the team to drastically improve on their league position of 11th.
One of the main reasons for the inconsistent results according to the Pole is the time it’s taken for the new summer arrivals to settle in.
“With the new signings, you never know what's going to happen. You think they're good because they had a very good spell at their previous club, and you hope they'll play as well for Liverpool. But they needed time, sometimes they love to play, some will never play.”
When Brendan Rodgers has his first choice side fit and available, Liverpool will be a difficult team to get the better of. The club has been criticised from all angles this season but there’s enough talent, quality and experience in the side for the Reds to salvage a decent season.
