Alex Song has said that he would like to remain at West Ham United in the long term.
The former Arsenal midfielder is currently on a season-long loan deal from Barcelona.
The 27-year-old has been one of the best players for the Hammers, and he has now claimed that he wants to stay at the London outfit beyond next summer.
“I want to stay here,” The Mirror quotes Song as saying. “There were offers on the table from clubs in Italy, France and Turkey. People ask me why I joined West Ham, but I don’t regret it.”
Song’s comments are certainly going to make the West Ham fans happy. In 10 Premier League appearances so far this season, he has created 11 chances, has a 78% pass accuracy, and has won 52% of the duels.
The Cameroon international has been an absolute force in midfield and a key reason why West Ham are as high as fourth in the Premier League table.
Given Song’s resurgence following two years of mediocrity at Barcelona, there could be other clubs interested in his services at the end of season.
However, since Song himself wants to remain at West Ham, the London club appear to be in the frontseat.
