VIDEO: Ex-Manchester United man Evra scores first Juventus goal

Patrice Evra netted his maiden Juventus goal against Sampdoria, but it wasn't enough for the Old Lady to pick up all three points.

Patrice Evra hasn't had a dream start to life in Serie A, but the former Manchester United defender did get on the scoresheet against Sampdoria this weekend.

The French international left United in something of a U-turn over the summer after penning a new contract at Old Trafford.

Evra was immediately put into Juventus's first team, but his performances haven't been spectacular and between injuries and tactical decisions he has been on the sidelines for a significant part of the season.

But the 33-year-old has battled Simone Padoin for his place and he was selected for Juventus to take on high-flying Sampdoria.

The decision was rewarded when Evra rose to meet a Claudio Marchisio corner to put Juventus in the lead. Evra is not known for his scoring prowess and only managed seven goals in 273 outings for Manchester United, so his goal for his new employers may prove to be something of a collector's item.

However, Juventus were unable to fully capitalise and could only draw 1-1 as reported Tottenham target Manolo Gabbiadini scored, ending a 25-game home winning streak for the Bianconeri.
