Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has been speaking following his side’s 2-1 win against Swansea City on Sunday.
Harry Kane put Tottenham ahead only to see Wilfried Bony equalise, but Christian Eriksen scored another late winner to give Mauricio Pochettino’s side a vital three points as they look to climb back up the table.
Lloris has been Tottenham’s stand-out performer so far this campaign and the Frenchman has revealed what his side needed to do as they looked to turn a promising draw into a great win.
“We needed to keep believing, stay focused and when the chance appears, you need to score,” he told the club's official website.
“We were patient and again, we got the win at the end of the game.”
Tottenham’s next game is against Newcastle United in the League Cup and with qualification to the knock-out stages of the Europa League also secured, the North London club could have an extremely busy second half of the season.
Much has been said about Tottenham’s fluctuating form but Lloris summed it up best when he explained the most important thing as they head into the Christmas and New Year fixtures.
“The positive thing is that we are still alive in all competitions,” he said.
It certainly is, and the longer that remains the case, the more likely it will be that Spurs could end the season with some much-needed silverware.
