Morgan Schneiderlin, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, could feature for Southampton against Sheffield United in the League Cup tomorrow.

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has said that Morgan Schneiderlin could return to competitive action tomorrow.

The 25-year-old midfielder, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, has missed the Saints’ last three Premier League games due to a thigh injury.

France international Schneiderlin suffered the injury during Southampton’s 3-0 home defeat to Manchester City last month.

The 25-year-old is now in line to make an appearance for the Saints against Sheffield United in the quarter-finals of the League Cup at Bramall Lane tomorrow.

Koeman has also given an update on the fitness of Jake Hesketh, who suffered an injury against Burnley away from home in the Premier League on Saturday.

Southampton are currently fifth in the Premier League table with 26 points from 16 matches, just two points behind fourth-placed West Ham United.
