Report - Redknapp personally scouts Tottenham's Alex Pritchard

QPR boss Harry Redknapp is reported to have personally watched Tottenham Hotspur owned Alex Pritchard.

Reports claim that Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp was in the crowd to watch Tottenham Hotspur owned Alex Pritchard play for loan side Brentford last weekend.

"Redknapp watched Pritchard in the Bees' 3-1 against Blackburn on Saturday and is considering making a move for the youngster in January," claims Get West London.

Pritchard is thought to be the subject of interest from several of Tottenham’s Premier League rivals and Redknapp is likely to have been impressed by what he saw during Brentford’s 3-1 demolition of Blackburn.

The competition for QPR reportedly comes from Burnley and West Brom though Brentford are also thought to be keen on making Pritchard’s loan deal permanent.

Redknapp personally scouting the player is the clearest sign yet of QPR’s interest and they could be the first side interested in him to make a move ahead of the January transfer window.

QPR represents the chance for Pritchard to stay in London though he may want assurances over the amount of first team football he’s likely to enjoy, which could play into Brentford’s hands.

Mauricio Pochettino will also have a say and he could still be retained by Tottenham, if the Argentine feels there’s a place for him in his first team squad.

That would be the ultimate aim of Pritchard but again, he may not get the levels of first team football he’s looking for, especially as central midfield is one of the strongest areas of Tottenham’s squad.
