Tottenham Hotspur head into the League Cup game against Newcastle United on a high following another late winner in their Premier League game against Swansea City.
Spurs weren’t at their best against the Swans but Ben Davies and Christian Eriksen combined late on to ensure that the side put another three points on the board.
Mauricio Pochettino is likely to make a couple of changes to his team for the League Cup game against Newcastle, though he needs to retain a strong side after Alan Pardew pledged to take a strong side to White Hart Lane.
That pledge unsurprisingly comes after Newcastle were well beaten against Arsenal last weekend. Their defence was exposed and the boss will want the team to tighten up to prevent more goals from being conceded.
Spurs should be out for revenge after they were beaten by Newcastle in the Premier League version of this fixture.
Here are the possible teams that each manager could go with.
Tottenham Hotspur: Vorm, Chiriches, Kaboul, Fazio, Rose, Stambouli, Bentaleb, Chadli, Dembele, Kane, Soldado
Newcastle United: Alnwick, Janmaat, Williamson, Coloccini, Dummett, Anita, Colback, Perez, Cabella, Gouffran, Riviere
