Tottenham Hotspur defender Kyle Walker has said that he was pleased with his performance against Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday.
The England international right-back was featuring in his first Premier League game for nine months, having returned to competitive football only last week.
Walker played the entire match which ended in a 2-1 win for Spurs, and he was pleased with his performance.
“He (Jefferson Montero) is probably the quickest I have come against,” he told Spurs TV. “After nine months, you didn’t really need that. I thought I did all right against him, I kept up until the last minute.”
Walker did not have a great game as he was beaten a couple of times, but he was not bad either.
The 24-year-old won 39% of the duels and had 72% pass accuracy, while also picking up a yellow card.
There were one or two encouraging signs from Walker against Swansea, and one hopes that he is going to get better as the season progresses.
