Dietmar Hamann: Why Harry Kane reminds me of Teddy Sheringham

The Tottenham Hotspur striker has been the subject of great praise from the former midfielder.

Dietmar Hamann sees traces of Spurs legend Teddy Sheringham in Harry Kane.

The Tottenham striker scored yet again at Swansea City yesterday afternoon and former Premier League midfielder Hamann has been impressed with the 21-year-old's form for some weeks now.

In fact, so impressed has the German been with the forward that he has compared Kane to former Tottenham striker Sheringham.

His touch and vision, in particular, were two qualities highlighted by the pundit.

“He isn’t giving us any option but to praise him!" Hamann beamed on BBC programme Match of the Day 2 last night.

"He’s been fantastic. He reminds me of Teddy Sheringham. He’s got a great touch, great vision. The way he’s done things in the last few weeks have been absolutely magnificent.

“He can bring other players into play with his vision – just like Sheringham could.”

Kane is Tottenham's top scorer this season, having netted 10 times in all competitions. Five of those goals, however, have come in the Europa League, with the 21-year-old's Premier League tally standing at three for the campaign.
