A round up of news stories this morning about Arsenal.
Walcott suffered a groin problem, which has kept him out of the side after he’d originally recovered from a knee problem.
On the other hand, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could miss the game after picking up a problem in the weekend win against Newcastle.
The Ox also suffered a similar problem in Arsenal’s Champions League game against Galatasaray last week.
“He got a knock. He’s got a pain in his groin. I took him off quickly. I wanted to take him off, and then he takes the ball and crosses the whole pitch and [after that piece of action] he cannot run anymore,” said Arsene Wenger.
Newcastle defender Mike Williamson says the Gunners were simply too good as they won 4-1 over the weekend with Olivier Giroud and Santi Cazorla both scoring twice.
“It’s a tough place to come, and we didn’t perform to the levels we did last week (against Chelsea), and that was frustrating. But Arsenal are a fantastic team with fantastic individuals,” said Williamson.
