Arsenal player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will reportedly have a groin injection after suffering an injury in that area during the 4-1 victory against Newcastle United.

According to the Daily Mail, the Gunners hope the treatment will help him recover sufficiently to feature against Liverpool next weekend.

Arsenal are beginning to build up some momentum after enjoying back-to-back wins against Galatasaray and the Magpies and they will want to make it three wins in a row when they face a faltering Liverpool side on Sunday.

In other news, Arsenal right-back Mathieu Debuchy has been speaking about getting back to full match fitness following his sustained spell on the side-lines.

In comments published by Talk Sport, the Frenchman said, “There was never a good time to get injured but this (so soon after arriving) was probably the worst time.”

And reflecting on his return in the Champions League last week he said, “I was struggling to breathe at times, but the fitness will come back quickly.”
