Bacary Sagna believes Manchester City should be relieved to have beaten Leicester City.
Former Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna has talked up Manchester City's win away to Leicester.
Despite the Foxes being on a losing streak and sitting at the bottom of the Premier League table, the reigning champions made hard work of the contest.
Only a well-worked Frank Lampard goal from close range separated the two sides.
Sagna told The Mirror: "We have managed to get two big wins, in the Champions League and here.
"That always gives power to the team. This was a really tough game. Manchester United lost here and Arsenal drew. Many teams are going to drop points here. We always have that faith."
Manchester City appear to have real momentum now, carried over from the confidence taken from the win over Roma.
Had they failed to win at the Stadio Olimpico and been eliminated from the Champions League, there's every chance they would have seen their Premier League form drop off.
As for the match against Leicester, sometimes it's possible to time a fixture very well. Leicester have not won since their spectacular win over Manchester United, and given the Red Devils' recent winning run, it's likely if the two teams faced off now there would be a very different result.
Sagna's former side Arsenal were particularly unlucky in their timing of the game at the King Power Stadium. They played in late August when Olivier Giroud was injured and before Danny Welbeck was signed, having to play Yaya Sanogo up front.
