Redfearn comments on Adryan, indicates Brazilian needs to step up

Adryan

Leeds United head coach Neil Redfearn is adamant his playmaker needs to score.

Leeds United boss Neil Redfearn appeared a little underwhelmed with the club's talismanic playmaker's display against Fulham.

20-year-old Adryan was substituted after 75 minutes, failing to provide the spark Leeds needed in the 1-0 loss.

Asked about his performance after the game on BBC Radio Leeds, Redfearn preferred to focus on his earlier performances.

"I have to say he's done really well in previous home games, got a bit of flair, but he needs a goal."

His inability to yet find the net certainly seemed as though it was disappointing the head coach, who went onto repeat:

"He's an attacking player and he needs a goal."

In recent games strikers Mirco Antenucci and Souleymane Doukara have found the net, but with them out of luck against Fulham, attention on Adryan still being without one increases.

It has not been for a lack of trying since joining the club; but the only consistency Adryan has found in front of goal is his inability to find the net.

Breaking his duck will give him a huge confidence boost, but there is a real chance he lands up left out of the next game away to Forest.

Redfearn went onto talk of the possibility of playing a different style in an attempt to curb their poor away form, and without adding goals to the team, Adryan could be seen as a luxury if the boss goes for a defensive approach.
