Recent Chelsea debutant Ruben Loftus-Cheek scores for under-21s as they go top

The midfielder scored in a 3-0 win against Sunderland.

In midweek Chelsea used the opportunity of their assured top spot in the Champions League group stages. Jose Mourinho gave plenty of fringe players the chance to shine.

The likes of Mohamed Salah, Kurt Zouma and Petr Cech were thrust into action and there was also a chance to shine for youngster Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

The talented teen has long been touted as a future star. The central midfield dynamo has been impressing in the under-21s for a while now and came on for Cesc Fabregas in the 83rd minute for something of a cameo against Sporting Lisbon.

But after a brush with the first-team it is back to reality for the player, who featured for the under-21s against Sunderland this afternoon.

Of course he was fantastic. He scored the opening goal in a 3-0 win against Sunderland, with Charly Musonda and John Swift adding the second and third.

It was yet another excellent performance from the talented midfielder as Chelsea went top of the under-21 league.
