Bayern Munich star Pepe Reina has hailed the performance of Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea against Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday.
Two of the 24-year-old’s notables save were against Raheem Sterling in the first half and Mario Balotelli in the second period.
Reina, a former Liverpool player, was following the match and claimed that his compatriot was the best player on the pitch.
Thanks to De Gea’s heroics, United defeated Liverpool 3-0. Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata scored in the first half, and Robin van Persie added the third on 71 minutes.
Reina believes that Liverpool would not have lost had it not been for De Gea.
The win means that United are now third in the Premier League table with 31 points from 16 matches, while Liverpool are ninth with 21 points.
