Former Manchester United striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been singing the praises of Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Christian Eriksen.
Denmark international Eriksen is one of the best young players in Europe, and he showed his class against Swansea City on Sunday.
Eriksen’s overall game was also impressive as he created three chances, had 81% pass accuracy, took two shots, put in 10 crosses, attempted three take-ons, won 50% of the tackles and made two clearances.
United great Solskjaer was impressed with what he saw of Eriksen against Swansea and told Sky Sports: “If you look at the interview (played during Sky Sports’ Super Sunday show), Eriksen is quite the cool customer.
“He doesn’t seem to be carried away. He is one of Scandinavia’s best players by a mile. He has done really well.”
There have been suggestions that Eriksen has not been at his best, and perhaps those claims are correct.
However, there can be no doubt that the former Ajax star is one of the most talented and created players in Europe.
Having played over 100 games for Ajax and 49 for Denmark, Eriksen is hugely experienced, but that should not detract from the fact that he is only 22 and has still some improvements to make.
Eriksen is still coming to grips with manager Mauricio Pochettino’s gamplan and tactics, but he certainly seems to be up for it.
Tottenham’s chances of a top-four finish in the Premier League could depend on Eriksen.
