Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho could well be wondering if there is a place for Patrick Bamford in the Blues' team of the future as the 21-year-old continued his outstanding goal-scoring form for loan club Middlesbrough this weekend.
Bamford has always been a goal-scorer, but his record of six strikes in his last seven games means he is now becoming prolific, and that could cause the Chelsea boss to think long and hard about what to do further down the line.
For now Chelsea have plenty of goal-scoring options, but Didier Drogba will not be at Stamford Bridge for much longer and Bamford could see a space opening up for a player of his undeniable talent.
The youngster scored the first goal in Middlesbrough's 2-0 home win against Derby County on Saturday, ensuring he continued his outstanding form after initially taking time to settle at the Championship side.
Bamford later took to Twitter to reveal his feelings about the match, writing, "Great team performance yesterday; another important three points."
If he can maintain this form for the rest of the campaign, Chelsea could well have a new goal-scoring hero on their hands next season and beyond.
