Scott Brown was on target twice for Celtic as they eased past St. Mirren 4-1 at home in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.

Celtic extended their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership table to six points with a comprehensive 4-1 victory over St. Mirren at Celtic Park on Sunday.

The Bhoys took the lead as early as the fourth minute when Scott Brown latched onto Anthony Stokes’s pass and shot home from close range.

Sean Kelly restored parity for St. Mirren just minutes later, but Celtic scored twice in quick succession thereafter to effectively end the game as a contest.

James Forrest shot home from inside the St Mirren box after being teed up by John Guidettu on 15 minutes, and moments later Brown made it 3-1 with his second goal of the match.

Celtic dominated the rest of the first half and went close through Stokes and Stefan Johansen in the opening minutes of the second period.

Stokes eventually made it 4-1 to the hosts midway through the second half when he turned in a pass from Johansen.
