‘We must learn’ – Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho looks ahead to United match

As Liverpool prepare to face Manchester United, Philippe Coutinho has been speaking about the last week and the upcoming encounter.

Liverpool player Philippe Coutinho has been speaking ahead of the Reds' Premier League match with Manchester United on Sunday.

Brendan Rodgers’ side crashed out of the Champions League last week and have had a domestic campaign with more lows than highs so far. But they have a chance to start turning things round with a victory at Old Trafford.

Speaking to Liverpool’s official website, the Brazilian said, “We must take what happened in the Champions League as a lesson learned so we can avoid having the same issues in other competitions.”

As for the United match, Coutinho is hoping to repeat past successes against Liverpool’s fierce rivals.

“We had a good away game against them last season and we’ll try to do the same this year," he said.

“We’ll do our best to improve in the competition going forward.”

Liverpool’s away form has been relatively impressive thus far, so a trip to Old Trafford may not hold the fear that it does for some clubs.

But Rodgers and his men will know United are searching for their sixth straight win and their home is fast-becoming an extremely tough place to visit once more.
