Steve Bruce labels Chelsea as flawless ahead of Premier League clash

Hull City boss Steve Bruce envisages a tough encounter with Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea.

Hull City boss Steve Bruce has said that Premier League leaders Chelsea have no weaknesses as he prepares his side for the daunting trip to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues currently top the Premier League table, suffering just one defeat in 15 Premier League matches and holding a three-point lead over rivals Manchester City.

Jose Mourinho’s side have looked unbeatable on occasions this season, prompting many observers to draw parallels with the famous Arsenal Invincibles of 2003/04.

Such talk has now been crushed given their 2-1 defeat at Newcastle United last weekend, but their aura of supremacy remains and no less at fortress Stamford Bridge.

The West Londoners boast a perfect 100% home record in the league, leaving Hull boss Bruce with a major headache as he reveals his opponents on Saturday are relentless and above all flawless.

“When you go to Chelsea you have to play well and you have to work hard,” Bruce told the official Hull website.

“That’s because Chelsea will do exactly that. They’re a terrific team that looked unbeatable, but after last weekend all of a sudden their lead is down to three points.

“We’ll go there and enjoy it because you want to take on the best and they’re as good as any team in Europe on their day. We want to go there and have a right good go. If we play well on the day, you never know.”

“Chelsea have some marvellous talent and that is what great teams have. They have a wonderful manager too. They’re not just about the flair players, they’re good at set-pieces, they’re strong and powerful where they need to be and good in attacking areas.

“In the scouting reports that we get, we usually try to highlight a couple of weaknesses. In the report for this weekend, there was nothing in the weaknesses column!”
