Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao has said that he wants to repay the fans’ faith in him by scoring goals and winning trophies.
The Colombia international has struggled with injuries so far this season, but the United supporters continue to back him to eventually come good.
In seven Premier League appearances, Falcao has scored one goal and created four chances, while having a pass accuracy of 83% and a shot accuracy of 55%, and has won 50% of the duels.
The former Atletico Madrid star is expected to feature against Liverpool at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday, and he hopes to start scoring regularly.
“Oh, it makes me very, very happy to be welcomed so much by the fans,” Falcao told Inside United when asked how it feels to hear his name sung by the United supporters.
"It is really great to be appreciated like this and I want to thank them with all of my heart. I think the best way I can repay the supporters for their kindness towards me, and for all that love, support and appreciation, is to score goals and win trophies for them.”
Falcao is a world-class striker and, having recovered full fitness, he will certainly be determined to get back to his best.
Currently on a season-long loan deal from AS Monaco, the former FC Porto star remains a potent striker who will be looking to crush Liverpool on Sunday.
United are unlikely to win any major trophies this season, but if Falcao starts scoring regularly, then they could secure a top-four spot in the Premier League with ease.
