The pair were Estudiantes team-mates for three seasons.
Recent performances from Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo have really caught the eye. Since returning from his dislocated shoulder he has been in fantastic form and that has seen Manchester United shoot up the league table to fourth.
His performances, allied with his left-back/centre-back position, has seen him likened to former Manchester United defender and fellow Argentine Gabriel Heinze.
But while he is being compared to this former United player a picture has emerged this week of him celebrating with a less successful ex-Manchester United Argentine.
Sir Alex Ferguson had a pretty excellent record with his signings, but the odd dud slipped through the net as well. One such player was Juan Sebastian Veron.
United spent £28.1 million on the Argentine in 2001 to bring him in from Lazio, becoming the British transfer record at the time. However he was swiftly sold to Chelsea a couple of seasons later for £15 million after struggling to adapt to English football.
His career never truly got back on track after the move to Old Trafford, until he went back to Argentina to join childhood club Estudiantes.
While he was at the club he found himself playing with a young defender called, Marcos Rojo.
They were team-mates from 2008 until Rojo left for Spartak Moscow in 2011. And this picture shows the two celebrating together back in 2010.
United fans will hope that Rojo can be more of a hit than Veron, in fact, he probably already is.
