The Spaniard has been discussing his former manager's chances of an Anfield return.
But his advice to his former club, nevertheless, is to 'never go back.'
Benitez managed the Reds for six years between 2004-10, winning the Champions League and FA Cup and endearing himself to the hearts of many a Kopite.
The Spaniard had a charm that made him instantly popular with Liverpool supporters and both parties have held a special bond since, even though Benitez was appointed interim manager at Chelsea in 2012.
Brendan Rodgers has come under increasing scrutiny for several poor decisions so far this campaign and some Reds fans are calling for Benitez to be brought back.
According to Garcia, however, that particular move would be as unwise as it is unlikely.
"Never go back," the former Liverpool forward is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.
"I don’t think Benitez will ever go back as a manager. Maybe something else, director of football or something.
"To go back after winning the Champions League and many other trophies and struggle to turn things around would be a bad move. He is like a God in Liverpool."
