Kasper Schmeichel’s message to Leicester City fans after operation

Kasper Schmeichel, once at Leeds United and Manchester City, hopes to return to action soon for Leicester City.

Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has assured the club’s fans that he will do all he can to return to competitive action as soon as possible.

The 28-year-old former Leeds United star broke his metatarsal in training on Thursday and underwent an operation on Friday.

The Denmark international is likely to be out for at least a month, but he has insisted that he will try to return before then.

On Saturday morning, Schmeichel took to social networking site Twitter to post the following message to the Leicester fans.

Schmeichel joined Leicester from Leeds in the summer of 2011 and is a key member of Nigel Pearson’s squad.

The Foxes are currently at the foot of the Premier League table with just 10 points from 15 matches.
