Tottenham Hotspur winger Nacer Chadli has insisted that he never thought of leaving the club in the summer transfer window.
Signed from FC Twente in the summer of 2013 for a reported transfer fee of £7 million, Chadli scored just one goal and created 31 chances in 24 league appearances.
Chadli has struggled with injuries on occasions this season, but his performances when fit have been impressive, scoring six goals and creating 17 chances in 12 league appearances, while having a pass accuracy of 86% and a shot accuracy of 50%.
The former AGOVV Apeldoorn star has now claimed that his best is still to come and told PA Sport: "(My form) has been nothing special.
“I wanted to stay. That was my first wish. I am here and I do my best for the team. Yeah, of course (the first season was frustrating).
“When you are not fit and you get injured, you comeback and then again your get injured it is very frustrating for everybody.”
Chadli will now be hoping to continue his good form and lead Tottenham to victory over Swansea City away from home in the Premier League on Sunday.
