The Serbian believes his compatriot is not yet playing at his very best.
In January Chelsea completed the signature of the defensive midfielder Nemanja Matic from Benfica for £21 million. the Serbian international had long been on their wish-list, ever since he started proving them wrong.
Because of course Matic was previously at Chelsea before they re-signed him less than a year ago.
The midfielder signed for Chelsea in 2009 from MFK Kosice for a fee in the region of £1.5 million. But after failing to break into the first-team he was included in the £21 million deal for David Luiz when he arrived from Benfica.
But three years later they wanted to snap him up once again.
Now they have he has become a major part of Jose Mourinho's team. In fact, some might say he is the most important member of the team and first name on the team-sheet.
Indeed is importance to the team was highlighted against Newcastle United at the weekend, where his absence through suspension saw Chelsea lose their first game of the season.
His performances have not gone unnoticed.
His team-mate for both club and country Branislav Ivanovic has been discussing his recent form this weekend and believes that Matic has done very well since returning to Chelsea - but also made it clear that Chelsea were not about individuals this season:
"He’s been very important, he’s settled very well and is improving with every game, but I believe he can get better and better.
"He’s a very good player for the team but it’s far too early to single out individuals and judge anything because at this moment all we are concerned about is picking up points."
No doubt points will come a lot easier with Matic back in the side.
