Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has been speaking about making his first Premier League start of the season.
The Blues’ stopper is in for the injured Thibaut Courtois, who has featured in every league match so far this season.
The 22-year-old Belgian international is now Chelsea’s undeniable number one, but a muscle injury means Cech took to the field for the club’s match against Hull City this afternoon.
Cech has experienced just 66 minutes of league football prior to this weekend, coming on as a substitute for Courtois during the match against Arsenal.
Apart from that the 32-year-old has had to make do with three Champions League matches and two appearances in the League Cup.
But in quotes published by Chelsea’s official Twitter account in the build-up to today’s match, Cech said, “I’m looking forward to it. I always want to play.
“Hopefully we will get the win because all that matters is three points.
“We’ve been doing well recently and we hope to continue with that momentum in front of our own fans.”
