It’s a great chance to see how far United have come from the side that was comfortably beaten at Old Trafford by Brendan Rodgers’ team last season and whether they can get some revenge.
In terms of the stats, one of the things which immediately jumps out is the fact United have scored more goals this season from fewer chances.
There is creativity in this Liverpool side but they can’t be as wasteful and it’s a message for United that if they give the Anfield team too much space, they could be made to pay for it.
Liverpool are showing more bite in terms of tackling in midfield but where United have excelled is cutting out the danger before it develops, making more interceptions all over the pitch.
United also seem to be protecting and moving the ball more effectively, with more accurate passes and more crosses, which shows they’re switching up the play well.
It will be a tight game which could come down to which side makes the most of their half chances.
If United get on the ball and keep it well then they stand a good chance of taking their sixth win in a row, but don’t disregard Liverpool’s ability to create chances under pressure.
