After 15 Premier League games, West Ham United sit fourth in the league table.
That is such a remarkable achievement in itself that, if Sam Allardyce's side were to plummet down the standings, people would still admire and respect their campaign up until this point.
The Hammers have indeed been a breath of fresh air and taken on sides in the top and bottom halves of the top flight with an equal degree of confidence and ability.
The key aspect now is whether West Ham have the capabilities to stay where they are. And the majority of critics would probably argue no.
A top-six place might be realistic but top four...?
The above statistic, however, courtesy of Sky Sports, offers the biggest example of why West Ham might just be genuine top-four contenders.
Indeed, the east London side have had 12 different goalscorers so far this term - more than any other side in the Premier League apart form table-toppers Chelsea.
What more evidence can there be for the seriousness of the Hammers' charge?
No one, of course, is saying that a Champions League spot is a strong probability. But an objective look at West Ham's squad suggests it is has far more depth than most in the Premier League.
From the back four right through to the front line, Allardyce has options galore at his disposal. And, with that midfield, Big Sam is just spoilt for choice!
