Sam Allardyce's message to Kevin Nolan: 'Can you keep it up?'

The West Ham boss wants his midfielder to keep producing.

West Ham United coach Sam Allardyce is delighted with midfielder Kevin Nolan's response to being left out of the team.

The midfielder performed well after returning to the starting line-up in the wins against Swansea City and West Brom after being left out of the victory against Newcastle United.

But Allardyce has urged the Hammers man to keep his form up...

"Kevin Nolan illustrated the best way to come back recently. To say he wasn’t pleased to be left out is an understatement but since he’s come back, he has channelled his anger and aggression into two fine performances for the team," the West Ham boss wrote in his weekly column for the London Evening Standard.

"It was a case of ,“I’ll show you, I’ll prove you wrong - I’ll make sure you don’t dare leave me on the bench again”.

"It’s great for me to sit there, or jump about like a madman as I do from time to time, and see a player react in that way. My response will be to say: 'Okay, you’re back in, you’ve been terrific - now can you keep it up?'"

West Ham travel to the Stadium of Light to face Sunderland tomorrow afternoon at 3pm.
