PHOTO: Mesut Ozil makes his way out for Arsenal training after knee ligament injury

The German international has been out since October and was not expected back until 2015.

Arsenal have had something of an injury ravaged season this term. The likes of Jack Wilshere, Mathieu Debuchy and Olivier Giroud have all had time out. The list is of course much longer. Aaron Ramsey is currently out for four weeks, Laurent Koscielny has tendinitis, Mikel Arteta has been in and out of the treatment room while the left-backs Kieran Gibbs and Nacho Monreal like to swap injuries now and again. Add to that the walking sicknotes that are Abou Diaby, Theo Walcott and Yaya Sanogo and Wenger has had a real problem this season.

It does not help that record buy Mesut Ozil, despite his poor form, is also out injured. He damaged his knee ligaments in October and was initially ruled out for six weeks by Arsenal.

However the German national team, who discovered the injury, predicted a much longer period of recuperation and in November Ozil confirmed he would not feature until 2015.

But it would seem that his recovery is going well - as he was spotted going out for Arsenal training this afternoon at London Colney.

The masked figure behind goalkeepers Damian Martinez and Wojciech Szczesny in the attached photo could easily be another player, perhaps Alexis Sanchez as the pair are a similar height and have similar hairstyles.

But, on further detection, it is clear Sanchez wore white boots to training today not green, meaning this must be Ozil making his way out for some form of training.

Of course the intensity of such a session is not yet known and it is likely he is just dipping his feet back in the water. But don't write off an Ozil return before the end of the year just yet.

Arsenal fans will just hope he returns back in form.
