Liverpool morning news: Rodgers set to make two big calls ahead of United game

Brendan Rogers Press Conference Smiling - 16/02/2014

A round up of news stories this morning about Liverpool.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is being tipped to use £16 million striker Mario Balotelli against Manchester United this weekend.

The Italian forward has been out of action with injury but could come back into the side for the huge match at Old Trafford.

Balotelli is still looking for his first goal as a Liverpool player.

Adam Lallana is also being tipped to feature against United despite suffering from a rib problem.

The England midfielder missed the Champions League game with the problem, as he’s suffering from two affected ribs.

Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown has suggested that Glen Johnson may have played his last game for England.

Keown believes that Southampton’s Nathaniel Clyne and Arsenal’s Calum Chambers are ahead of Johnson in the pecking order.

“With the likes of Clyne and Calum Chambers coming through, and Walker back from injury, I wonder if he has played his last game for England,” said Keown.
