The Newcastle United faithful remain as divided as ever on the subject of their head coach, who won the Manager of the Month award for November.
Of course, that is perhaps credit to his critics. At least they haven't changed their minds about him just because he's won a short-term award. And plenty of Newcastle fans remember exactly what happened last year - when Pardew was named MOM for November, as well. The Magpies' season didn't exactly go to plan thereafter.
There are plenty who support the Newcastle boss - and duly praise him for winning the award. But many are still wary.
One Twitter account mentioned the fact that Joe Kinnear has won twice as many MOMs as Pardew, while others rightly said it was far too soon to talk of 'humble pie' for those who doubted the 53-year-old. Results in the next few weeks will likely prove pivotal when it comes to the boss's perception on Tyneside, with a Tyne-Wear derby soon to come, while Newcastle travel to Arsenal tomorrow evening.
Naturally, though, there are those who ridicule the Magpies supporters that criticise him. Pardew proving as divisive as ever... here's the best Twitter reaction to his Manager of the Month award.
Remember, Kinnears got twice as many manager of the month awards as Pardew But #nufc shouldn't sack Pardew cos we could end up with kinnear— Mike Ashley Lies (@MikeAshleyLies) December 12, 2014
Got to love how a lot of prominent #NUFC supporters still take the piss out of Alan Pardew even after his recent revival of the first team— El Skalla (@ElSkalla) December 12, 2014
Pardew, don't go so hard on thumping the ball into the oblivion tactic after that award. #nufc— Mithun Thomas (@mithun_toon) December 12, 2014
Pardew MOTM for November but chances are if we lose the derby & in the cup the fans will yet again be singing for him to be sacked #nufc— Ash Evans (@AshEvans2) December 12, 2014
Even if we stuff Arsenal 6-0, if lose at Spurs & then to the Mackems Pardew will be right back to square one #nufc— Paul Clery (@paulc02) December 12, 2014
I was never one of the sack pardew mob because I knew he was going nowhere. Pleased for him that he's won manager of the month! #nufc— Steve McKenna (@SteveMcKenna_) December 12, 2014
Give me two more seasons with Pardew (hopefully not), which are succesfull = top 7 finish, then we'll talk about humblie pies. #NUFC— Le_Danny0 (@Le_Danny0) December 12, 2014
