Chelsea morning news: Pardew's dig at Mourinho, Cahill's request for teammates

Jose Mourinho Double

A round up of news stories this morning about Chelsea.

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew says Jose Mourinho hasn’t done enough in the Premier League to be classed alongside Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger.

Pardew has suggested that Mourinho needs to do more to be in their bracket.

“I think everyone at Arsenal knows he’s done a magnificent job. For me, he’s the second best manager in Premier League history (behind Sir Alex Ferguson). Jose (Mourinho) hasn’t done enough yet,” said Pardew.

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has urged his teammates to create a new unbeaten run at the club.

The Blues lost their unbeaten record this season when they lost to Newcastle United away last weekend.

“It's important to go on another run because at the end of the season we want to be top of the league. You see how close City at this moment are to us. Even with that unbeaten run,” he told the press.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche has played down the chance of extending Nathaniel Chalobah’s loan move.

The Chelsea youngster is on loan at the newly promoted Premier League side, but Dyche is unsure over whether he’ll go back to Chelsea in January.

“We'll wait and see. We'll stumble across that bridge when we have to,” he said.
