The Barcelona legend has accomplished pretty much everything there is to accomplish in football, having also won La Liga, World Cup and European Championship titles.
So, when Xavi names his all-time British Champions League XI, we listen.
He joins Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool stars - alongside Paul Gascoine.
From Arsenal, the 34-year-old has picked Sol Campbell and Theo Walcott, while Paul Scholes, Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs and Rio Ferdinand feature from Manchester United. Chelsea are represented by John Terry and Frank Lampard, while Liverpool's Steven Gerrard unsurprisingly makes the cut.
Of Southampton man Forster, Xavi told Shortlist magazine - for whom he compiled the XI:
“Barcelona have met Celtic four times in recent seasons and every time Forster put in an incredible performance. In the games we’ve played, he’s made some of the best saves I have ever seen.”
So can Forster help Southampton join the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool in the list of British teams to face the Champions League elite?
