Robbie Fowler's warning to Manchester United ahead of Liverpool clash

The Premier League clash won't be as simple as many are predicting, according to the ex-Liverpool striker...

Robbie Fowler has fired a warning to Manchester United ahead of their Premier League clash with Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds travel to Old Trafford to face a Manchester United side in third place in the table fresh off the back of a Champions League exit.

But Fowler insists Man United 'have hardly had anyone trembling' and suggests the formbook will go out the window this weekend.

“I know they’ve been written off and they’ll say themselves it hasn’t been good enough so far this season – there’s no escaping from that,” Fowler told the Daily Mirror. “I’m amazed, though, that people have dismissed them already.

"United know more than anyone what Liverpool can do at Old Trafford – they’ve won there often enough in the last decade or so and last season was one of the best performances in the Premier League. They could have won six or seven!

“Look, it’s the biggest cliché but form goes out of the window in these games anyway. So saying they’re a pub team is missing the point. Liverpool will go there hurt by what’s gone on so far, and they’ll want to put it right.

"Manchester United have hardly had anyone trembling and any Liverpool team I know would be going there thinking they can win, no matter how they’ve played.”
