The 18-year-old midfielder made his competitive debut for the Blues against Sporting Lisbon at Stamford in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Mourinho was delighted with the performance of the youngster and is quoted as saying by Chelsea’s official website: “Ruben had very good personality, very positive, not afraid to play, not afraid to have the ball. He wanted to participate. It was only 10 minutes but he wanted to do it.”
Loftus-Cheek is rated highly by the Chelsea officials and is believed to have a bright future, and judging by his performance against Sporting one would expect him to get more playing time as the season progresses.
It will not be easy for the teenager to break into the Chelsea first team and hold a place anytime soon, but his talent and ability will certainly help him get minutes from time to time.
