West Bromwich Albion midfielder Chris Brunt has joked about the Baggies' plan to stop Christian Benteke in their upcoming derby match with Aston Villa.
The Baggies take on Villa this weekend knowing that they will need to limit Benteke's goalscoring chances if they are to get the three points.
The Belgian is unquestionably Villa's best player and most notable goal-threat, but Brunt believes that some rough-hand tactics might be able to stop him.
"Just kick him," Brunt joked with Sky Sports when asked how his side would go about marking the target-man. "You just have to watch the stuff when we played against them last year, especially the one at Villa Park, where he caused us mayhem.
"He is someone we have to contain because he is a handful."
Benteke has missed most the season so far and that is a major reason behind Villa's struggles.
The powerful centre-forward was ruled out for the start of the campaign as he recovered from a ruptured Achiles, before a red-card against Tottenham Hotspur meant that comeback was set-back.
Since that suspension, Benteke has made the impact that Villa fans were hoping for.
The 23-year-old scored the winner against Crystal Palace to end a nine game winless streak for Paul Lambert's team before leading the line in their 2-1 win against Leicester City.
The two victories leave Villa's position in the table looking far more secure and they can even go into the top-half if they are to beat West Brom on Saturday.
Alan Irvine's men are under pressure after a poor start and they know that they can ill-afford to lose to their rivals in-front of their own supporters.
