Chelsea played well to defeat Sporting Lisbon 3-1 in their final Champions League group game.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho would have been delighted with the way his team played as he made changes to the starting line-up for the 3-1 win against Sporting Lisbon last night.
The pressure was off the Blues with a place in the last 16 secured, but the boss decided against dropping virtually all of his regular first teamers, which meant Chelsea had too much strength across the pitch for Sporting to cope.
Here are our player ratings for the game.
Cech – 6
Looked sharp despite not having played as much this season. Produced one world class save.
Azpilicueta – 6
It doesn’t matter if he plays on the right or the left, he’s effective and was as reliable as ever.

Zouma was one of the younger players thrown into the side and he looked good, rarely troubled by the players in fronts of him.
Cahill – 6
His experience for Chelsea is starting to show and he was solid alongside a young player he had to guide.

The Brazilian has been professional this season when he could have thrown his toys out of the pram. He was good in defence and attack.

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Protected the defence and possession effectively.

Enjoyed nudging further forward but his main job was a defensive one and he was solid.

The star for Chelsea. He looked good throughout the game and has put pressure on Mourinho to keep him in the team.

Did exactly what he’s been doing throughout the season in midfield and controlled the game well.

Plenty of pace and energy out wide, which made him difficult to contain for the Sporting defence.
