Arsenal morning news: €15m bid made for Lucas Silva; Ramsey comments on wondergoal

All the latest news and gossip from The Emirates Stadium this morning.

Arsenal have reportedly stolen a march on the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United in the pursuit of Lucas Silva.

The talented Cruzeiro midfielder is valued at €15 million and has previously made it clear that Real Madrid is his preferred destination.

But Arsenal are testing that theory, according to Marca, by becoming the first team to meet the asking price, with Real Madrid still struggling to pay that much for an unproven Brazilian talent.

With Marca generally in the know regarding Real Madrid related news this should be seen as positive for Arsenal's sake.

Arsenal put their recent Premier League defeat at Stoke city behind them this week with a stunning performance in Turkey to thrash Galatasaray 4-1. The fact they did so with a weakened team made the result even more impressive.

For Aaron Ramsey however it saw a real return to form. Last season he was Arsenal's stand-out player, until injury got in the way later in the campaign.

He has struggled so far this season but after scoring twice against Gala, including a screamer of a volley, it seems he is back in form.

He has now been speaking about the result, insisting he would like to play in Istanbul every week, also calling his goal the best he has ever scored:

“I have seen it back, and it is definitely the best I have scored. As soon as I hit it, I thought it had a chance of going in and thankfully it went into the top corner.

“I like playing in Istanbul - I have scored a few goals here now and I would like to play here every week if I could."
