Manchester City step up Correa chase

Manchester City are reportedly closing in on a deal for Estudiantes attacking midfielder Joaquín Correa.

Joaquín Correa has been linked to Inter, but the latest reports suggest that Manchester City are preparing to make a move.

The talented playmaker is developing into a massive prospect at Argentine side Estudiantes and many believe he will shortly be moving to Europe.

Serie A side Inter have been tracking Correa for some time, but the Nerazzurri haven't made any concrete approach yet.

According to respected Italian transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà on Sportitalia, Manchester City are now ready to jump in for Correa.

The Premier League champions have reportedly prepared a bid of just under £8 million and could try and complete a deal in January.

If that happens then City are expected to send Correa out on loan immediately with Sampdoria said to be keen to bring him in on a temporary basis.

At the age of 20, Correa will only continue to develop and his value may well rise greatly in the near future, so Man City may be well advised to swoop as soon as possible.
